Blooming Butterflies: Building for the Future

Blooming Butterflies is in the process of purchasing property to develop a state-of-the-art facility that will include greenhouses for growing milkweed and nectar plants, essential for supporting pollinators like Monarch butterflies and honey bees.

This facility will also serve as an educational hub, providing space for workshops, training programs, and hands-on learning opportunities for individuals of all ages who want to get involved in environmental conservation and community empowerment.

Our team brings together knowledge and experience from diverse fields including habitat restoration, entomology, plant ecology, education, sustainable farming, and conservation biology—all united by a shared mission: to protect and restore the ecosystems that sustain life.

We are committed to collaborating with federal and state agencies, tribal governments, regional authorities, research institutions, and fellow nonprofits. We aim to maintain strong working relationships with key partners such as the U.S. Forest Service, Bureau of Land Management, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, and state wildlife agencies to maximize our impact.

Collaborative Conservation with Landowners and Land Managers

Blooming Butterflies is committed to working closely with a wide range of landowners and land managers to support and strengthen their conservation efforts.

  • We develop habitat management strategies tailored to diverse landscapes and land uses, empowering land managers to incorporate the needs of at-risk species, including essential pollinators, into their ongoing land stewardship practices.

  • Our team will also create and implement Environmentally Safe Activity Plans designed to support pollinators and other beneficial insects on farms, gardens, and other managed landscapes.

Through these efforts, we aim to ensure that conservation and productivity go hand in hand—promoting sustainable ecosystems that benefit both people and wildlife.

Survey and Monitoring for At-Risk Species

We are in the process of developing survey protocols and providing guidance for public agencies to help facilitate the monitoring of at-risk invertebrate species and their habitats.

  • Our team is also engaged in long-term initiatives to assess the effectiveness of pollinator habitat restoration projects, ensuring that efforts to protect pollinators are both sustainable and impactful.

Additionally, we are currently partnering with individually owned battered women and children’s shelters, teaching them how to create pollinator habitats. Through this program, we empower women to participate in saving the endangered Monarch Butterflies, drawing a parallel between their own personal transformation and that of the Monarchs. Just as caterpillars undergo a metamorphosis inside their chrysalis, these women are beginning new chapters in their lives—emerging stronger, just like the Monarchs, into a world full of new possibilities.
